Alvin Bertram was a long time member of the Glacial Lakes Motorcycle Club, the host of this event, and the owner of Fun Sports in Hutchison, MN. The last scavenger hunt he held at his store was based on murals. Murals, unlike graffiti, are commissioned works of art. Usually on public building or in public spaces. Sometimes, they are on private property; the whale mural on the glass shop across from Camden Yards comes to mind. For this Grand Tour, advertising is not considered a mural, so no tobacco barns, Coke logos and the like.
Other than murals, the theme is wide open. So what to do, what to do. Plans were afoot to head to Oregon for the 2023 COG National so that's a good place to start. Get some on the way there, some locally there, then more on the way home. Hey, what about at least one mural from all 55 counties of West Virginia? What a great way to visit our new home state.
